The operations of Pioneer Easy Bus Company have been stopped over debts by Uganda Revenue Authority . The company was given a notice to pay the debt in October last year but failed to pay.
Uganda Revenue Authority says that it the company fails to pay the money in two days ,they will be forced to auction the buses to get the money.
An official with Pioneer Bus ,told the press in the morning that the company will sort its self out with the concerned stakeholders adding that they will resume business as soon as possible.
The bus company started operations on March 12, taking advantage of a strike by taxi operators over the sh120, 000 monthly dues charged by KCCA.
Passengers have enjoyed lower fares charged by the buses, compared to those charged by taxis, which dominate the city’s public transport.
Taxi operators are happy once again that the buses are out of their way.
Passenger are however calling upon the ministry of transport to help restore the buses on the roads because they are cheap.
