Parliament is resuming work today  after five weeks of recess.

The sitting is expected to begin at 2pm with the speaker Rebecca Kadaga making a statement on the petition that was seeking to recall parliament from recess of which she rejected on grounds that it lacked the required signatures.

On  the agenda will be the debate on the statement of the state on the national economy which was presented by finance minister Maria Kiwanuka some time back.

The legislators will also tackle  the pending bills which include the Anti- money laundering, Public Order Management Bill plus the  Marriage and Divorce Bill among others.

Speaker Kadaga  has told MPs that they should first tackle all the issues which were not handled last year before handling any new business in the house.
