Parliament has rejected the report of Public Accounts on Jinja roads.
Public accounts presented a report to the parliament showing how money was spent in Jinja in connection to the construction of roads in the district. According to the report, government lost a lot of money in compensation to a contractor who had abandoned the laid out work.
However, parliament has rejected the report saying the report did not outline how exactly the money was lost and to whom was the money lost to. It states that the report fails to identify the individual in question which brings loop holes in the report itself.
They have instead sent back the report to the Public Accounts office to come up with a better report for parliament in relation to the roads in Jinja district. Some of the roads in construction were the Jinja-Kamuli road among others.
