Gilbert Oulanya the MP for Kilak County has led a committee to Amuru district where there has been unresolved land wrangle between the Uganda People’s Defence Forces and the residents.
Oulanya said that the visit of the Parliamentary Committee follows his petition in Parliament last year over the land matter.
He said that the Parliamentary committee is talking to the local residents in Pugwang village in Pabbo sub County-Amuru district over the matter.
After their assessments, the committee will go back to parliament to present their findings.
Last year, bitter arguments between Gilbert Oulanya and Amuru district land committee arouse when the Pugwang residents were allegedly evicted by the UPDF who claimed ownership of the land.
Oulanya who is the local Member of Parliament followed the Committee who were already plotting the Pugwang land and halted the work to date.
Both the Pugwang residents and the UPDF claim ownership of the land.
