The parliamentary committee of local government and public service is going to recommend parliament to make amendments in KCCA Act which was passed by the 8th parliament.

The committee boss Florence Kintu said this during the interventions with a number of witnesses about the mismanagement of funds in KCCA.

Mrs. Kintu said that most of the witnesses have attributed to all the wrangles in KCCA to the law which was passed by parliament without consulting stakeholders.

She added that in their report on KCCA investigations, they are going to recommend parliament to make amendments in the Act most especially about who heads KCCA between the elected mayor and the executive director who was appointed by the president.

“We have interfered with many witnesses but all of them say that KCCA law is one causing all wrangles in KCCA.As we are finalizing our investigations, we are calling upon all Ugandans who have any information about KCCA to come and give it to the committee for the accuracy of their report” She said
