By Lydia Nsubuga

Parents of Lweza Primary School in Mukono district  have gone on a strike demanding the transfer of the school headteacher.

The angry parents stormed the school  premises as  early as 07:00am.They  have refused to return their children to the school until its headmistress Loy Nantongo whom they accuse of mismanaging it has been removed.

They accuse Nantongo of  failing  to present accountability of the school’s funds  and subjecting their children to corporal punishments which they claim affected the pupils’ performance in the recent Primary Leaving Exams.

Led by the chairman PTA Daniel Kaweesa, Lweza PS  parents have been demanding for the transfer of Nantongo since last year but nothing has changed.

When contacted, the District Education Officer Vincent Baraza whom parents have denied chance to speak to them said that the headmistress will be transferred within four days.

Efforts to reach Headmistress Nantongo  were futile as her phone was switched  off.
