The chairperson Pader District Local Government- Alfred Akena has announced an exercise for recruiting over 120 health workers to help boost the sector with more man power for effective service delivery.

Addressing the press on Wednesday morning,  Akena said  that the district has for the last 2 years been faced with insufficient health workers almost in all the health centres .

He said the district has been operating without any doctor since the transfer of the only doctor who was the District Health Officer, to Nwoya in the last financial year.

Akena said that the recruitment will include midwives, doctors, nurses, and accountants.

Akena said that after their recruitment, the successful candidates will be expected to report immediately and start work.

So far 100 health workers have been recruited among them are 2 doctors.
