Vendors of Owino market under Twegatte development association Limited have appealed to president Museveni to immediately intervene and rescue them from the repressive leadership of Godfrey Kayongo.

The venders made their call while appearing before the parliamentary committee of presidential Affairs chaired by Col Fred Mwesigye.

The angry venders led by their boss Anatooli Nsereko said that ever since Kayongo was given powers of Owino market, they have been tortured and  arrested by Kayogo and his enforcement men.

“We want Mr President to come and help us with Kayongo’s regime because he is the one who appointed him as the presidential advisor on markets. We don’t have any other alternative apart from calling the president to come and rescue us before we become violent” One of the vendors noted

They further said that government should come up and takeover Owino market through KCCA.They  added that  Owino market should developed  the same way as it was done  for  Wandegeya market.

The vendors further called upon KCCA to organize elections in the market because Kayongo has been in leadership for more than 16years.
