The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has finally allowed the Public accounts committee of parliament to proceed with the investigations of  financial misappropriation in the office of the prime minister.

According to the committee boss Kasiano Wadri, speaker Kadaga has directed the committee to continue with probe with the main key witnesses and leave the witnesses who were mentioned in the DPP’s letter.

Mr Wadri told reporters at parliament that since the speaker has okayed the committee,it  is going to summon the key witnesses to come and defend themselves over the financial misappropriation in the office of the prime minister.

“We are going to begin from were we had stopped. We had felt bad by the speaker’s decision to break us from our investigations. Since she has changed her minds, we are going to kick off our investigations and the first witness will appear before the committee on 26th Feb this year” Said the committee boss Kasiano Wadri

Mr Wadri further said that the director firm Engineering Company, the minister in charge of Karamoja Affairs Mrs Janet Kataha Museveni and the prime minister Amama Mbabazi have to appear before the committee and defend themselves for conniving with other officials in OPM’s office to swindle PRDP funds .

Mrs Museveni  is accused by the auditor’s report of using  close to 143.M shillings  PRDP Funds to travel eight  times to Israel in one month while  the Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi is wanted by the committee because his name was also mentioned in the report to have used some of the money to buy a Mercedes Benz.
