After celebrating the NRA/NRM Day successfully, Nwoya is preparing to celebrate the Tarehe Sita Day.
Tarehe Sita, which refers to February 6, 1981, commemorates the first armed attack on Kabamba barracks, starting a five-year guerrilla war that ended with January 26, 1986 take over of power by the NRM government.
The Theme for the 2013 Terehe Sita celebration is ‘The Vanguard of National Transformation in Solidarity for Regional Peace and Integration’

The Gulu’s UPDF 4th division spokesperson Lt Isaac Oware said the before the celebration, the army from the 4th Division will carry out sanitation in Gulu, Oyam, Nwoya and Amuru districts.
Lt. Oware said that activities that started from Anaka hospital yesterday will be done in Amuru, Kole and Oyam.
He said that they intend to empty the septic tank at the staff quarters which he said that has been blocked for months so that sewerage may flow to the main hospital lagoon.
Patrick Okello Oryema the Nwoya district chairman welcomed the initiatives saying it was also the responsibility of the Army to intermingle with the community.
