By our reporter

UPC vice president Joseph Bossa has insisted that the escalating land problems in the country are as a result of inconsistencies in the way the NRM government has handled issues to do with land in the country.

Mr Bossa says that land wrangles are not yet to end when the government is selectively addressing land issues in different parts of the country.

He added that the current land laws and policies are helpless when it comes to solving land matters.

Yesterday at his country home in Rwakitura, President Museveni issued directives to all local leaders, investors, courts and police to stop illegal land evictions of the peasants as well as set up a committee to resettle all those who were illegally evicted away from their land.

Meanwhile state minister for lands Aida Nantaba has applauded the presidential intervention to stop evictions but accuses the inspector Gen of police Kale Kayihura and the RDCs of conniving with land grabbers to illegally take people’s land.
