The civil society under the NGO-Forum together with researchers and experts in nutrition will this year start a massive campaign geared at sensitizing the masses on good feeding with the aim of improving nutrition standards of Ugandans.

The project coordinator, NGO-Forum, Alfred Nuwamanya challenged government to expeditiously pass the feeding and nutrition bill into law to help their work of monitoring and implementing programs  easily.

The 2011 health demographic survey indicates that 33% Ugandan children are stunted,14% under weight, 5% wasting adding that 38% of children under five years lack vitamin A with 33% of women aged between15 to 49 do suffer from the same deficiency.

Mr Nuwamanya also said that although Uganda is blessed with nature that has seen crops grow on their own coupled with abundant food, it hasn’t taken away the burden of poor nutrition among the biggest percentage of Ugandans.
