President Museveni has warned Northern Uganda Members of Parliament (MPs) against claims that they will separate themselves away from Uganda.
The north has had to endure the LRA war for 25 years. To help rehabilitate them, the government has received donations but have been used unfairly. Most of the funds meant to help the people have been pocketed by individuals on their private bank accounts, the most recent being the misuse of funds in the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM).
The MPs said since the government has failed to take care of them, they will cede and become their own country and call themselves Nile Republic. However, President Museveni has warned against this and ordered them not to talk about it again. He said that Uganda was a country led by law, not impulsive people.
