Kenya’s presidential debate on Monday saw each of the presidential candidates give  different approaches to  challenges awaiting the winner ,among these was the  controversial ownership of Mugingo Island which is still a dilemma between Uganda and Kenya.

Kenya’s Prime Minster ,Raila Odinga kept neutral on the issue but other candidates had no kind words for Uganda.

“It’s not logical for a small “piece of rock sitting on Lake Victoria to plunge the country into war with our neighboring country Uganda.” he said

However ,Safina Presidential candidate Paul Muite  stated ,“As a result my Government shall deploy the Kenya Navy into Migingo Island as you well know that Uganda does not have a Navy and take over our island. It’s not Migingo alone, Elwak triangle in North western Kenya needs to be demarcated to let Kenyans know whether it’s in south Sudan or Kenya because it’s essential,”

Uganda’s Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi while on Twitter  said ,the statements made at the debate should not worry Ugandans because the issue of Mugingo is  are being handled .
