Members of Parliament who dodge Parliament for 15 seating without informing the speaker are at a risk losing their parliamentary seats.
According to the chairperson of the parliamentary committee on Rules and Discipline Fox Odoi, even those under detention for a period of six months without bail or appealing their cases can lose their seats.
Speaking to journalists at parliament, Odoi said its only in the events that a legislator has sought permission from the Speaker of parliament as spelt out in the Parliamentary rules of procedure that one can be spared for absenteeism.
Odoi noted that some MPs who register and sign in the attendance book and after disappears which is not good.
He also clarified that it is indiscipline for a member to register another who is absent adding that there will be punishment for the culprits.
His clarifications follow the recent roll call of MPs in Parliament where it was revealed that some MPs just register in the attendance book and later disappear for their personal businesses.
