MPs who deliberatly dodge committee sittings are in trouble as they will be forced to refund part of their allowances.

The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga who is the chairperson of the business committee of parliament has  issued a directive to  all chairpersons of different committees at parliament  to present to her office monthly attendance lists so she can take action.

The allowances for committee sittings are directly deposited on the accounts of all MPs regardless of those who don’t attend the meetings.

The chairperson of the parliamentary committee on science and Technology Engineer Sekitoleko Kafeero confirmed that the directive of the speaker and said that he will submit his attendance list to the speaker to expose those who get money at the expense of tax payers without any work done.

In an attempt to expose MPs who sign for sitting allowance and later sneak out of the house to attend to their personal businesses, Kadaga has resorted to  conducting roll calls where she will nab the culprits .
