The MPs on the Public Service and Local Government committee are set to meet president President Museveni over the power clashes between KCCA Executive Director ,Jennifer Musisi and the Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukawgo.
The MPs at the committee met the two leaders last week where Mayor Erias Lukwago accused Jennifer Musisi of destructing work at the authority .He cited council meetings and implementing some programs without the approval of the authority.Lukwago argued that Musisi blocks councilors from attending the meeting he calls adding that she also snubs all of them .
The Mayor and executive director have also clashed over charging taxi operators 120,000 shillings each month, the establishment of the physical planning committee chaired by the director, and rebranding of the city .
After listening to all the views of Erias Lukwago and Jennifer Musisi, the committee resolved to meet president Museveni to help in getting a solution for the two leaders. The committee argued that any of these clashes at KCCA is stalling the development of Kampala City.
“Where these problems have reached, we have resolved that meeting the president will be a good idea,” said Rukungiri municipality MP Roland Mugume Kaginda
