Members of parliament seating on Local Government and Public Service Committee have vowed to open an investigation into all KCCA councilors who earn tax payers money and dodge meetings.

One of the committee members ,Mukono Municipality MP, Betty Nambooze on Tuesday revealed  that they are some councilors who have made it a routine to swindle 3.5m shillings per month without any service in KCCA.

“We are going to open our investigations over this matter. If we find that some councilors swindle tax payer’s money without any service rendered to the tax payers, we shall force them to pay back the money”Hon Nambooze noted

Ms Nambooze also said that over twenty councilors connive with the KCCA Executive Director ,Jenifer Musisi and fail the work of the Mayor Erias Lukwago.

“They have deliberately refused to attend the meetings but at the end of the month they sign for 3.5milion shillings” She added

“It’s now 2years when councilors are not attending the KCCA meetings. They have been eating our money without any service yet they were elected by the people to work for them. We want them to return tax payers money” Said Rubaga North MP Moses Kasibante
