All members of parliament have been directed to declare their wealth by March this year.
As the legislators stepped in the plenary session from a five weeks recess ,they were told to pick declaration forms where they will lay out their assets .
“Members of parliament have up to the 1st of March this year to declare their wealth.” Speaker Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga said
Parliament resumed work yesterday after five weeks of recess and on the agenda this time will be the debate on the statement of the state on the national economy which was presented by finance minister Maria Kiwanuka some time back.
The legislators will also tackle the pending bills which include the Anti- money laundering, Public Order Management Bill plus the Marriage and Divorce Bill among others.
Speaker Kadaga has told MPs that they should first tackle all the issues which were not handled last year before handling any new business in the house.
