Three members of parliament have joined hands to push for a Minimum Wages Bill  which they say will end the exploitation of workers in terms of salary.

The MPs  are led by  the Workers’ MP  Arinaitwe Rwakajara.Rwakajara  told journalists   on Thursday that  the  Bill proposes separate minimum wages for different workers ranging from causal workers to professionals .

The MPs noted the different organizations and companies are paying their workers different salary despite others doing the same work.

Jinja East MP noted that other companies are paying their workers very little money which can not even sustain a family not even good feeding or paying school fees.

“If you pay someone shs60,000 ,how does someone pay for rent ,school fees ,and feeding “  MP Mwiru said

The bill seeks to establish a minimum salary housemaids ,sugarcane cutters,builders ,bankers etc.

On top of that ,the MPs will see to it that government establishes frameworks for  implementing the bill.
