Aruu County Member of Parliament, Odonga Otto wants the parliament to pass a bill that regulates the sale of Genetically Modified Foods in Uganda .

While addressing  to the press today ,Otto argued that genetically modified foods have in most of the African countries caused rapid growth on young children which he thinks is dangerous.

He further more noted that the abnormal growth on youth and children if unchecked would  make Ugandans suffer from multiple diseases.

Otto urges food researchers to conduct extensive research into associated risks.

The Aruu MP also thinks that African deficient food and regulations is responsible for uncontrolled influx of genetically modified foods into the African market places.

Most of the European countries such as France, Greece, Hungary, Germany and Luxembourg have banned the sale and consumption of genetically modified foods in their countries
