Kitgum district Woman Member of Parliament Beatrice Anywar has threatened the government that the west Northern region is in process of splitting away from Uganda and form their own country which will be called the Nile Republic.

Hon Anywar told reporters at parliament on Wednesday  that since  the region was hit by the nodding disease last year ,nothing much has been done by the government to over come this problem.

“Children between 5 to 15years are still battling with the disease but government is keeping quiet” She noted

Anywar added that  northern Uganda  is not valued  at all by the governmenty, a reason why it does not stand with them in problems.

“Government only values  the northern region when it is election time.” the angry MP said

She added that the region was affected with war that took years to end, the theft of PRDP funds, and the nodding syndrome disease which she said that even not a single report has come out to show the progress in this matter .

She has demanded government to show what it has  done about this disease.

She further  threatened that  the leaders of northern region have started soliciting signatures which will allow their region to break off from this country which is full of discrimination and corruption.

Hon Anywar went ahead to warn  the Indians to desist from growing sugarcane on the Amuru land in Kitgum district as directed by president Museveni.

She said that the land is the only property the northern people  and it is the only possession they have  remained with.

“We will  fight to the last man over this  land which the president wants to give to investors” the MP vowed.
