Bishop Johnson Gakumba, the Bishop of Uganda’s northern diocese is disturbed by the number of church catechists in Northern Uganda.
While addressing the congregation over the weekend ,the Bishop said that the diocese has only about 50 clergy leaders and yet they have to serve in 24 parishes with also about 200-250 churches to take care of in the whole diocese.
Bishop Gakumba said that this is affecting the plans of the diocese as very few clergy are available.
He also noted that the region needs more clergies who can help in preaching and serving the Lord.
The man of God explained that most of the current serving clergy leaders are old and about to retire and only a few are highly trained.
