The Minister of State for Primary Education, Kamanda Batalingaya has asked government to water down the tribal conflict in Bundibugyo district over traditional leadership.

Minister Batalingaya made this call while appearing before the committee on defense chaired by Kigulu South MP ,Milton Muwuma which is now on investigations on what is causing the clashes and conflicts among tribal groups of Bundibujo district.

Mr Batalingaya told the committee that there are so many tribal groups in the area which includes the Basongola, Bakonjo, Badinga and Bamba-Bayise .

“The main cause of all conflicts in the area is cultural leadership were each group want its particular leader to be the king of which they have all failed to agree adding that soon they are going to start killing each other. I therefore beg that government should intervene immediately before these people start killing themselves” The minister said

The minister further said that government should allow and recognize all the cultural leaders from all these existing tribal groups to solve the problem in the area.
