The Gulu high court last week placed a temporal court injunction banning any body from trespassing into the land belonging to Amida Investment Limited.

The injunction was issued by the Lira high court judge Simon Byabakama Mugenyi following an application by Amida Investment limited for the injunction.

Judge Mugenyi while passing his ruling said the purpose of the injunction is to preserve the status quo in the disputed land.

Amida Investment dragged Nwoya County MP Richard Todwong, woman MP Lily Adong and others to court over the Got Apwoyo in Purongo Sub County, Nwoya district.

The said land measures about five square miles.

Amida Investment, being represented by Okello Oryem and Company Advocate accused the company for dishonestly acquiring the land with claims that it belongs to the community.

The Gulu High court issued a temporal injunction, preventing any activity on the said land until the final ruling.

Todwong and others are represented by Donge and Company Advocates.
