Country singer, Mindy McCready was laid to rest on Tuesday in her hometown of Fort Myers, Fla after she shot and killed herself just after losing her boyfriend and father to one of her children, David Wilson.
A service, which was open to the public, was held at the Crossroads Baptist Church and saw about 400 attend. Her music was played during the church service as mourners paid their respects to the deceased.
Mourners were greeted by McCready’s mother, Gayle Inge. Her three brothers and cousins were also in attendance, they served as pallbearers. The burial was by her family but another burial will also be held in Fort Meyers and will be organised by fellow musicians and other friends. McCready’s mother said, “Our Mindy was so tired. She felt helpless. I know she wanted to be healed…She was in her darkest moment and she was hurt by so many allegations. She was too emotional to understand.”
McCready was 37 years old when she passed.
