Former junior Health minister Mike was pushed back to Luzira on Monday after the Anti -Corruption Division of the High Court decided to deliver the judgment on his appeal  after one month.

Justice David Wangutusi has set March 13 ,2013 as a date when he will deliver his judgment.

Mulula was in January found guilty of  embezzling Shs210 million Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (Gavi) funds. He was found guilty by Chief Magistrate Irene Akankwasa and sentenced to four years in Prison . However, Mukula through six of his lawyers, has appealed against the conviction.

During the session ,One of Mukula’s lawyers, Mr Ateenyi Tibaijjuka, argued that Ms Akankwasa erred when she believed the prosecutions’ case that his client had stolen the Shs210 million before she could hear his side. Mr Tibaijjuka argued that despite the fact that his client signed the three vouchers totaling Shs263 million, he did not receive the money and it was instead kept in the
ministry’s safe.
