The residents of Laminadera village in Koro sub County in Gulu district have today handed over a 34 year old man they suspect to be supplying fake notes to Police.
The residents claim that Richard Ojok supplied fake notes of shs10,000, and 50,000 shillings to them when he bought bags of charcoal.
Vincent Olobo the area LCI chairman confirmed the incidence and said that they have handed Ojok to the Koro sub County Police station for investigation.
Olobo have urged the local residents to be vigilant saying that they should not keep quite if they have any person suspected to be supplying fake notes.
Early this month the Police spokesperson for Northern Uganda, Johnson Kilama warned residents in Gulu to be vigilant about fake notes in circulation.
Kilama explained that they have reliable information about some men they suspect have reached Gulu town with fake notes.
The police spokesperson also noted that Gulu is a big town where many visitors keep flocking every day and night from all walks of life.
