By Martha Nakimuli

Makerere University students have gone on strike again over the unresolved policy  demanding them to pay at least 60% of their tuition  before sitting for any examination or course work .

The students  stormed the University administration  block on Monday morning ,  demanding the university  administration  to explain why they have up to now failed to change the policy in their favour.

They argue that they gave the university a one week ultimatum to solve the matter but nothing has been done yet.

This is the second strike over the issue .Another strike was staged at the university last week in which the students also demanded the university to ease the policy on fees payment .

With the  policy , students are demanded to pay at least 60% of their fees before sitting for any examination  or doing coursework.

They accuse the new Vice Chancellor Prof.Dumba for orchestrating the policy which has failed for years at the university .

By press time ,the students were being calmed down by police ,urging them to be patient as the university holds a crisis meeting.
