The Uganda national examination board executive secretary Mathew Bukenya yesterday revealed that Luzira inmates who registered for the UCE examinations have all passed.
While releasing the 2012 UCE results on Thursday ,Bukenya said that over 30 inmates registered for 2012 UCE examinations of which only 26 inmates including five female sat for examination.
He said that eight inmates obtained division 1 while nine obtained division 2.
He added that four were in division 3 and five passed in division 4 and none of them failed.
He added that UNEB set an examination centre in Luzira upper prison for the inmates to do their exams.
Elsewhere Mr Bukenya said that special needs education candidates also did well in 2012 examination.
He said that Blind candidates were 38 with the best in division 1 got aggregate 22,Deaf candidates were 49 with the best in division 1 got aggregate 29.The dyslexic candidates were 12 with the best in division2 got aggregate 42.Severely physically handicapped candidates were 31 and the best got division 1 with aggregate 16.
He added that UNEB made arrangements for PWDs which included modification of questions, provision of questions written in Braille form and having support personnel for the handicapped and dyslexics candidates.
“Candidates with low vision received question papers with enlarged print to enable them read more easily. All special needs education candidates were allowed extra time in each paper”Mr Bukenya noted
