Councilors gave the directive spear-headed by Bernard Mulindwa who said there was urgent need for the mayor to call the meeting. “We have asked him before to call for this meeting but nothing has been done. There are close to 1000 issues which have to be passed or approved and are awaiting for our reviewing,” Mulindwa said.

Among the issues which will be discussed are re-passing decisions which have been already been passed by the councilors and the issue of the deputy mayor which is still in the house and needs to be dealt with.

However, the Lord Mayor, who has not yet confirmed if he will or not hold the meeting said many councilors fail to appear for the meetings he calls for and they say he does not hold any council meetings.

Failure to hold the council meeting will lead the councilors to take him to the minister’s office.

KCCA has been marred with disputes between the mayor, director and councilors which has stalled the development process of the city.
