In the new issue of Cosmopolitan, 32-year-old Kim Kardashian talked about the lessons she had learnt from her marriage to Kris Humphries to whom she was married for only 72 days and still trying to divorce to date.

Kim said she thought that her sister, Khloe’s marriage to Lamar which was so fast and has still managed to last to date would also be the same for her and Humphries but in vain. “I saw fast marriages like Khloe and Lamar’s and that was what seemed to work,” Kardashian tells the mag for its April issue.

The lesson she learnt from her marriage was that she had to give it time before she commits. “[Now] I say give it a good six months before you commit. Feelings change, even if it seems so lustful,” she said.

Asked why it took her so long to commit to Kanye West despite the two being into each other and wanting more than friendship, Kim said, “Sometimes you’re just not ready,” admits Kardashian. “A person could have it all, and you’re not ready for it all. But this is where I probably always should have been … [marriage] is something I know that we both want in our future, but I don’t have this sense of urgency about it. I have this best friend who understands me and helps me through all my tough experiences, and vice versa, you know? It just feels like this is it for me.”

Kardashian also talked about how she viewed children out-of-wedlock when her sister, Kourtney got pregnant with first child, Mason in 2009 with boyfriend, Scott Disick. “I was like, ‘You’re not married! How could you do this?’” she recalls. “I was really firm and strict. But she was like, ‘Marriage isn’t what I want.’ And later, I realized she had a better family life than I did.”

Kim Kardashian recently found out she was expecting a baby girl with Kanye and they would not be more excited. According to sources, she wanted to have a baby girl.
