Principal Accountant in the Office of the Prime Minister, Geoffrey Kazinda is set to appear in court today for his bail application.

Kazinda is to appear in the Anti-corruption court presided over by Judge David Wangutusi to hear his bail application over charges of forgery of the signature of Pius Bigirimana, the permanent secretary in the OPM and making document without authority.

Kazinda is seeking application on grounds that it is his constitutional right. He was arrested and has been on remand at Luzira prison over the charges of forgery and making document without authority. In addition to these charges, Kazinda faces separate charges of embezzlement, false accounting and conspiracy to commit a felon jointly with a number of other officials he worked with in the OPM.

He is being represented by city lawyer, MacDosman Kabega.
