The bail application for city tycoon and owner of Panarema bar in Ntinda, ‘Desh’ Andrew Kananura will be concluded on Monday 4th.
Kananura applied for bail and his hearing was today. However, the ruling has been pushed to Monday. According to prosecution, Kananura should not be granted bail because he has no definite place to stay. They allege that the house which is known is co owned by his mother meaning he can leave the home any time without being monitored.
Kananura said he wanted to be granted bail because he has diabetes. He produced documents from a hospital in London proving he actually has diabetes. He said that there were no drugs in the prison to treat him, something which the prisons doctor confirmed and said his health was deteriorating in prison.
Kananura had three sureties, one of them being the Makerere University Vice Chancellor.
Kananura is currently on remand in Luzira prison over the murder of Abdu Katerega at his bar in Ntinda, Panerama.
