Another Nigerian actor, Justus Esiri has died at the age of 71 once again from an unknown cause.
Born Onoriode Esiri in 1941 in Oria, Braka, Delta State, Esiri died Monday night from Lagos Hospital after briefly suffering from an unidentified ailment.
Esiri was the youngest child in his family who studied at Catholic Secondary School in Warri in 1948 before going to Maximillan University in Mucih, German in 1964. He attended Prof. Weners Institute of Engineering in West Berlin in 1967 and is an engineer by profession. He later attended the Arens School of Performing Arts in 1968 before coming out as a performer.
Apart from acting, Esiri was also a news translator and newscaster with the Voice of Nigeria (German Service).
He is father to Sidney Onoriode Esiri who is commonly known as Dr. Sid, a fashion designer, writer and musician.
Esiri is survived by a wife and six children of which five already graduated and the last born is at university. Three of the deceased’s children are married and have children of their own.
