The chairman for the local government District Speakers, who doubles also as the Gulu district Local Government speaker is disturbed by the idleness of youth in Acholi sub region after the 20 decade  civil war .

Douglas Peter Okello argued that following his survey in Acholi sub region, most of the youth are very idle and that they only want to crowd trading centres and Town councils.

Okello noted that most of the youth want to do betting instead of going to school or engaging in Agriculture.

The Gulu local government speaker maintained that at the time when peace has returned in Acholi sub region, it would be better if the youth continue with their education or engage in Agriculture.

Okello also encouraged the youth to avoid thinking that the government will continue to support them like it was during the LRA insurgency.
