Mukono municipality MP Betty Nambooze has today misbehaved during the meeting between the parliamentary committee of local government and the KCCA boss Jennifer Musisi.
Hon Nambooze banged books on the table after she was interjected by Hon Mutyabule when she was questioning Mrs Musisi. The KCCA boss had been asked to appear before the committee and give the accountability of the funds allocated to Kampala Capital City Authority.
Nambooze was accusing Hon Mutyabule of trying to defend Musisi. On Nambooze’s side was Kalungu MP Joseph Sewungu also criticized the MP for taking sides.
“Madam Chair some members have already taken a side in this committee by defending the executive director. This committee is none partisan we should leave the witnesses to carry their cross not to defend them. Hon Mutyabule to interject as if she is the executive director’s permanent secretary .We should learn also to behave as People’s representatives not permanent secretaries” Said the Kalungu district MP
Still the committee chairperson ,Florence Kintu condemned Nabooze’s action of getting out of order but described her as a good person.
“Hon Nambooze what you have done to bang the books has really disappointed me. I know you as a much disciplined woman” Said the committee chairperson , Kalungu district woman MP Florence Kintu.
Hon Nambooze apologized to the committee for banging the books ,
“Am so sorry madam chair but Hon Mutyabule made me to loose my temper when she tried to interject when I was questioning the executive director. It’s high time for my colleague Mutyabule to start behaving like an MP not like a permanent secretary”Hon Nambooze noted
