An Internal Security Officer for Palabek Gem Sub County in Lamwo district has said that they have buried a woman who died after allegedly taking local herbs.

John Peter Okot said that Juliet Bucinye Atenyi, a resident of Kamama central village in Lamwo is believed to have got the local herb from a herbalist identified as Alice Auma.

Okot  told the press that Atenyi was a HIV/AIDS patient in Lamwo district and  died just a day after taking the herbs.

“Atenyi started developing some complication and she died on Saturday Evening.” He said

Auma was arrested and she confessed to giving Atenyi the herbs.

She is detained  at  Lamwo district police station  to help in investigations .
