The Director for Gulu Regional Hospital has said that they are stuck with the corpse of a 35 year old man who died of recently after being admitted at the hospital.

Mohamed Mubiru said that the 35 year old man- Charles Odong was admitted at the hospital on Monday but died on Tuesday night and his body was transferred to the mortuary since Tuesday morning.

Mubiru said that not even a single relative of Odong had come to visit him at the hospital  from the time he was admitted  up to his death .

Odong who came on Monday at Gulu regional referral Hospital complained of difficulty in breathing and the doctors discovered that he had Pneumonia.

Mubiru added that if his body is  taken by the relatives today, the Gulu Municipal authorities will take responsibilities to bury him, in their burial ground in Pageya village where their cemetery is located.

Last year  two unclaimed bodies were buried at the Gulu municipal cemetery when they were not claimed by their relatives.

Some of the bodies were rotting  and caused a lot of discomfort to the entire hospital.
