Government is to take lead in the battle against fraudulent land acquisition and the growing unlawful land evictions in the country which has left many natives landless with many of them losing their property.

According to the minister of lands Daudi Migereko ,many natives are languishing in prisons over illegal land evictions that are mostly championed by local authorities under the influence of the rich people in the country.

The minister also said that despite the existing land law and policies that seem not to be working.

He however confirmed that government is soon tabling  new policies and plans that will help to save the common man adding that the president will today host a press conference at his country home in Rwakitura about land issues.
