A 14 year old Girl suffering from a nodding disease in Aromo-wang-lobo village in Omoro sub County is said to have died on Monday this week.

Monica Apio was a student of Aromo-wang-lobo primary school where there are over 20 children suffering from the nodding disease.

Santos Okello the headmaster for Aromo-Wang-Lobo Primary school confirmed the incidence saying that Apio died from Lalogi health centre.

John Okwonga the secretary for Health and Education for the Gulu district Local Government denied the allegation saying that they were still carrying out the postmortem.

He said they had sent samples of the 14 year old girl to Kampala for assessments.

He called on the locals in Aromo-wang-lobo to stop panicking saying that the Health department is alert in case there is any outbreak of Meningitis

Okello also said that out of over 20 children suffering from the nodding disease in his school Aromo-wang-lobo Primary school ,only 7 have reported to school.
