By Lydia Nsubuga
Government is in the process of banning fundraising activities  in places of worship, and instead incorporate financial requirements of registered churches and mosques in the national budgeting process.

This has been disclosed by the minister of state for youth and children affairs and Mukono North MP ,Ronald Kibuule at the fundraising function for Kinakwa village chapel in Nakanyonyi parish Bukoba Archdeaconry.

Kubuule says  that people have been ejected from churches and mosques because of the unending fundraisings causing a back slide in the work of rehabilitating and molding people’s morals.

He has asked the managers of the gazetted places of worship to register them to be considered for financial support of their programs.

Meanwhile the lay leader Mesusera Ssetimba appealed to the minister to lobby for the donors from the parliament, cabinet and elsewhere to avoid carrying the load on the believers.

Construction work at the chapel is estimated to take shillings 25 millions.
