The Former Chairman of the Acholi War Debt Claimants Association Norbert Adyere has asked politicians to stop interfering in the affairs of the association
Adyera who was ousted out of office in 2009 over corruption allegations told the press yesterday that there were a number of Politicians in Acholi sub region who were using the weaknesses of the Acholi war debt claimants to look for cheap popularity.
He also attributes his ouster to the same politicians whom he accused of poking their noses where they have no business.
Adyere though did not explain the details of of the interference maintained that he has reliable information that some politicians are interested in transferring the claimants money into their pockets.
Adyera argued that he remains the legitimate representative of the claimants though not the chairman of the Acholi War debt Claimants.
Acholi war debt claimants association was formed in July 2005, purportedly to seek compensation from government on behalf of the people whose property was looted by the then National Resistance Army rebels.
The association is seeking 1.4 trillion shillings from government as compensation for lost property.
