The Acwa region police spokesperson, Johnson Kilama has said that they are looking for an Ex-LRA rebel – Michael Ojok, aged 28 who chopped his one and a half year old child and set ablaze his house on fire.
Kilama said that the incidence happened yesterday from Loyo-Ajonga village in Lalogi sub County, Gulu district.
Kilama said that Ojok lived in LRA captivity for about 7 years from 1994 to 2007 but joined the UPDF after his return home and was sent to Somalia.
Richard Alima, the LC3 chairman of Lalogi sub county, told journalists that Ojok cut his child only identified as Odoch into pieces and later carried the child’s remains on a bicycle and dumped it about 300metres in the bush away from his home.
Alima said that he suspects that Ojok might have had a domestic quarrel with his wife Patricia Acan who fled the home at night.
The UPDF spokesman Felix Kulayigye has condemned the act saying that it was not right for Ojok to kill the child. He urges all the UPDF forces who might have problems to come out to their supervisors and solve the matter before taking a step.
