The European Union has given government shs60 billions to improve the production sector Acholi sub region.
Beatrice Arach, the project coordinator, Agricultural Livelihood Recovery Programme (ALREP) while talking to the press in Gulu town today said that the programme targets drilling of boreholes, improvement of infrastructures like roads, administration blocks, and cattle ranches among others.
Arach said that the money will also be used for improving the livelihood of Lango and Teso sub regions.
Arach also noted that a total of six boreholes have been drilled in Amuru, Alebtong, Oyam and Kole districts under Agricultural Livelihood Recovery Programme (ALREP) to improve water supply and safe water usage in the communities.
Arach said the implementation of the project has kicked off and they were targeting 100 sub counties in Acholi sub region for a start.
