By Juma Nsubuga

The investigations into the financial misappropriation in the office of the prime minister by the public accounts committee of parliament have been halted by the Director public prosecution (DPP), Richard Buteera.

According to the letter received by the committee  and  read to journalists by the chairperson of the committee Wadri Kassiano , the DPP claims that the work of the committee was subjudice since some witnesses appearing before them are either accused persons or state witnesses who are supposed to be used in this case.

The investigations have been halted until the cases have been concluded or as further directed.

However Wadri  criticized the DPPs’ decision saying  , halting these investigations will not demoralize them as they had gathered enough information on who misappropriated the PRDP funds.

The DPP’s directive came when the committee of public Accounts was planning to summon the minister in charge of Karamoja Affairs Janet Museveni and the Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi to defend themselves over the misuse of PRDP money.
