Buganda’s Katikiro ,Eng J.B. Walusimbi has appealed to traditional healers to document the prescription and use of traditional herbs.

Katikkiro who was meeting traditional healers in his office at Bulange , Mengo  this week noted that many people have turned to the use of herbal medicine because it has been found effective but that not much has been documented on its prescription and use.

He urged the healers’ leaders to fight fake healers who sell fake herbs to people and distort the healers’ credibility.

Sylvia Namutebi commonly known as Maama Fina who led the group reported to Katikkiro that they are largely detested by many people who refer to them as satanic yet they have the mandate to manage the Kingdom’s cultural matters.

She appealed to the Katikkiro to work with them and see how they can develop the Kingdom culturally and maintain peace.

Namutebi pledged to fight fake healers and blamed media houses for giving the impostors a platform to rob people through the frequent adverts they make over radio stations.

The healers bought Buganda certificates worth 1,520,000 shillings and pledged to mobilize their patients to support the restoration of Kasubi Tombs.
