Dancing With The Stars is back with a new season to look forward to. The new cast for the show was announced yesterday on Good Morning America.
This time round, the cast includes athletes, reality TV stars and music artists. They were announced by hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet from Studio B in Los Angeles. The show is set to kick off on Monday March 18th with a two-hour premiere. Below is the new cast with their professional partners.
Country music artist, Wynonna Judd. “This is something I said I would never do,” Judd said about joining the season 16 cast. “They’ve asked me for six years. I’m trying to get back to my original weight of 8 lbs, 15 oz. Because it’s the year of doing things that you’re scared of.” Her professional partner will be Tony Dovolani who won last season’s “All-Star” competition with partner Melissa Rycroft. This is his 15th season.
D.L. Hughley is a stand-up comedian and actor who will partner with professional dancer, Cheryl Burke who is a two-time pro champ Cheryl Burke. This is also her 15th season.
The Baltimore Ravens wide receiver, Jacoby Jones has also joined the cast. He is to partner with professional partner, Karina Smirnoff who won season 13 with soap opera star and veteran J. R. Martinez. This is her 13th season.
Lisa Vanderpump who stirs on “Real Housewife of Beverly Hills” is to partner with Gleb Savchenko; this is his first season on the show but has been dancing since he was 7 years old and has won six professional Latin dance championships.
Another comedian, Andy Dick is joining the cast with professional partner, Sharna Burgess who is also making a debut on the show.
Professional boxer Victor Ortiz and Lindsay Arnold are also expected on the show. Lindsay trained with fellow pro Mark Ballas and has finished in the top 10 of last season’s “So You Think You Can Dance.”
Disney star, Zendaya Coleman is also joining the cast. “I’m used to hip-hop dancing which, I’ve realized, is a completely different world. I kind of have to forget what I know and restart all over again,” she said today on “GMA.’ She will be partnering with Valentin Chmerkovskiy who returns for his fourth season.
Aly Raisman, an Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman is partnering with Mark Ballas.
Ingo Rademacher and Kym Johnson will also work the floor on Season 16.
Kellie Pickler and three-time champion, Derek Hough. Hough will join the cast. This is Hough’s 11th season.
Figure skater, Dorothy Hamill, 56 and Tristan MacManus will also feature on the show.
