Embattled country singer, Mindy McCready has died at the age of 37 leaving behind her two children.
McCready died in an apparent suicide by shooting her dog then herself at her home in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Her body was found at 4pm, Sunday after neighbors heard the gun shots and called police.
McCready recently lost her boyfriend, David Wilson who also died in an apparent suicide leaving her with their ten month old son and another son from a previous relationship. About the death of her boyfriend, McCready said, “He was my life. We were each other’s life…I have never gone through anything this painful. He didn’t just touch my heart, he touched my soul. He was my soulmate,” she said.
McCready is now survived by two children, 6-year-old Zander and 9-month-old Zayne.
Court ordered that she be taken to rehab after her family called an emergency hearing because of her use of alcohol which she admitted to using. In the mean time, her two children were taken away from her. Her concerned father, Tim McCready said, after the death of Wilson, McCready “Sleeps all day. Drinks all night and is taking Rx drugs.”
He also talked about her inability to bathe and was not taking care of her two young sons. “Screams about everything,” he said. “Trying to hit father. Is not making any sense of any conversations with anyone.”
