The Police in charge of the Child and family Protection Unit in West Nile has urged Local councilors to join hands in keeping all children in school.
Nixon Ruva made the call this morning while meeting the press in Arua District.
Ruva said that as school opened today, there are still some parents who may not mind sending their pupils at school.
He then called on the local councilors to monitor the turn up of pupils in schools especially at the beginning of the term so that they may improve on the illiteracy in west Nile.
He also cautioned parents who engage their children at home when school calendar opens saying that it’s against the law.
“We will question parents and relatives who are employing children below the age of 14 and 18 especially in urban areas why they are not taking them to school and if possible we shall arrest them”, Ruva said.
